Project LOREN
In OpenWebSearch.EU project LOREN stands for Legal Open euRopean wEb iNdex. The project seeks to provide a comprehensive analysis of the legal constraints and requirements for building and operating an OWI. The project will provide insights into the legal implications of crawling and data storage and sharing. The project will also provide recommendations for building and operating an OWI that complies with the European laws and regulations.
Paul C. Johannes is an experienced attorney at law with a focus on IT law. He counsels and litigates on copyright law, social media law, data protection law and IT contract law. In addition, he is active in research and teaching at the University of Kassel and is a managing partner of Datenrecht Beratungsgesellschaft (DRBG). He is co-managing director of the Project Group for Constitutionally Compatible Technology Design (provet) at the Research Center for Information System Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel.
Dr. Maxi Nebel, ass.iur. Mrs.Nebel is research associate in provet at ITeG since 2012. She made her Doctorate in 2020 on the topic of privacy protection in social networks. She is author of numerous publications in specialist journals, handbooks, and commentaries on the topics of data protection law and fundamental rights protection. She is managing partner of DRBG.
